Henderson Inlet, Puget Sound, February 1

First of all, I should be feeling fortunate to live here in western Washington State. I mean, people in Chicago, New York, and other northern United States cities are dealing with freezing temperatures, snow, and ice, but I can go for a walk in the middle of winter and get photos like this.

Most of these were edited with NIK Color Efex Pro 4. The only exception is the black and white, on which I used OnOne’s Perfect Black & White.  Every piece of software in their bundle is “Perfect”. He he! But I think that’s subjective. I like NIK software better… easier, quicker to get what you’re after. There are so many useful adjustable filters, tools, and the results can be as dramatic or as subtle as you want. You just have to play with the sliders on the right.
